1. The "Death List" Keywords
Never use these words in your Pin Titles, Descriptions, or Board Names. They are instant
red flags.
🔴 Income / Biz-Opp Triggers
If you sound like a "Get Rich Quick" schemer,
you are dead.
- "Make Money Fast"
- "Work From Home" (Use "Remote Lifestyle" instead)
- "Easy Cash"
- "$500 a day" (Specific dollar claims are dangerous)
- "Passive Income" (High risk, use sparingly)
- "Financial Freedom"
- "Multi-Level Marketing" / "MLM"
- "Pyramid Scheme"
- "Cash App"
- "Paypal Money"
🔴 Weight Loss / Health Triggers
Pinterest suppresses body-shaming or
unrealistic health claims.
- "Lose X lbs in Y days" (e.g., "Lose 10lbs in 3 days")
- "Flat Tummy Fast"
- "Cure" (Never claim to cure anything)
- "Before and After" (The text phrase itself is risky)
- "Fat Burner"
- "Skinny Pill"
- "Detox Tea"
🔴 Crypto / Gambling
- "Bitcoin"
- "Ethereum"
- "Crypto"
- "Forex"
- "Trading Bot"
- "Casino"
- "Betting"
🔴 Aggressive CTA (Call to Action)
- "CLICK HERE NOW" (Caps lock is a trigger)
- "Buy Now"
- "Limited Time Offer"
- "Last Chance"
- "Discount Code" (in the description; put it on the image instead)
2. Domain & Link Triggers
Your URL is your digital fingerprint. If it looks dirty, you get burnt.
❌ Forbidden TLDs (Top Level Domains)
Pinterest trusts .com, .net, and .org. They despise cheap domains used by spammers.
- .xyz
- .info
- .club
- .top
- .site
- .online
- .ru / .cn (High spam regions)
❌ URL Shorteners
Never use a generic public shortener. The AI cannot see where it goes, so it assumes the
worst.
- bit.ly
- tinyurl.com
- ow.ly
- goo.gl
- cut.ly
The Fix: Buy
a clean .com domain (e.g., MyLifestyleTips.com) and set up a redirect or a bridge page.
3. Image Triggers (Visual AI)
Pinterest reads your images. It knows what is in them.
- Excessive Skin: Even if it's not nudity, too much skin
triggers the "Adult Content" filter.
- Before/After Photos: Side-by-side body transformation
photos are frequently flagged for "Body Shaming."
- Text-Heavy Images: Images that look like flyers or have
>30% text coverage are downranked.
- Low Resolution: Blurry images are seen as low
quality/spam.
- QR Codes: Do not put QR codes on images. The AI hates
them.
4. Behavioral Triggers
It's not just WHAT you post, it's HOW you post.
- The "Machine Gun" Effect: Posting 50 pins in 1 hour.
(Stick to 10-15 per day, spread out).
- The "Copycat": Repinning the same URL 20 times to the same
board.
- The "Newborn Sprint": Creating a brand new account and
immediately following 500 people. (Warm up your account for 7 days first).
- The "Bot Commenter": Posting "Nice pic!" or "Check my
bio!" on other people's pins.
5. Safe Alternatives (The "White List")
Use these words to describe the same things without triggering the alarm.
| Instead of... |
Use... |
| "Make Money" |
"Build a Side Review" / "Career Tips" |
| "Lose Weight" |
"Fitness Journey" / "Healthy Habits" |
| "Work From Home" |
"Home Office Setup" / "Digital Nomad" |
| "Crypto" |
"Decentralized Finance" / "Web3" |
| "Cure" |
"Remedy" / "Relief" / "Solution" |
FINAL ADVICE:
If you look like a business trying to extract value, you get banned.
If you look like a user trying to share value, you win.
Print this out. Tape it to your
monitor. Do not deviate.
